A Nature Poem

White birds
With softer wings than you
Have flown above these parts.
They say honeysuckle words are meant for beehive dreamers.
In farmer’s terms I’m trying
To say that nature isn’t for those who work it anymore.
Pastoral dreams belong to whitewashed cheeks
Not fences.
